New Britain Public Pools and Splash Pads Open for the 2023 Summer Season
The hot summer months of 2023 are here and New Britain city pools and splash pads are open, providing relief from the heat and summer fun.
The pools in New Britain’s Willow Brook Park Pool and A.W. Stanley Park Pool opened on June 17, 2023 at 1:00pm and are to close on August 12th at 4:45pm.
The city’s two splash pad summer water recreation locations opened on Memorial Day weekend and are to remain open through Labor Day weekend.
The two city splash pads are located:
- Willow Street Park, at 43 Willow Street
- Chesley Park, at 23 Wildwood Street.
The city pools are located at:
- Willow Brook Park Pool at 80 Mill Street.
- A.W. Stanley Park Pool at 2161 Stanley Street
The hours for the city pools are to be:
- Public recreation swim, from 1:00pm to 4:45pm. The city says, “Children under 12 years be accompanied by a person 14 or older.”
- Family and adult swim, from 6:15pm to 7:45pm. The city says that swimmers, “Must be at least 14 years old or accompanied by an 18 year old or older.”
The splash pad hours are to be from 10:00am to 8:00pm and have no admission fee.
The city says that season pool passes, which are for New Britain residents only, are $50 per family and $30 per individual. Daily admission for the pools is $4 for adults, aged 18 or older, $3 for children, ages 6 to 17 and free for children 5 and under. More information is available on the Parks and Recreation website.
In addition, Parks and Recreation has its regular pool party programs at both city pools. The pool parties, held on Friday evenings, from June 30th to August 11th, Parks and Recreation says, “are held simultaneously at A.W. Stanley Park Pool and Willow Brook Park Pool.” The parties are 6:15pm to 7:45pm, and, “Daily general admission rates apply.”
Two special “Flick & Float” events are planned at the city’s pools. At A.W. Stanley Park Pool on July 7th, 2023, the event is to feature “Minions: The Rise of Gru.” on August 4th, “Lightyear” will be featured at Willow Brook Park Pool. Parks and Recreation says the events, “feature: Inflatable Amusements Carnival Games, and Concessions.”
Gates at the “Flick & Float”, events, Parks and Recreation says, open at 8:00pm, with the movies starting at 9:00pm, adding that tickets are $3 per person.
