‘Elf the Musical Jr’ at New Britain Youth Theater
Over fifty children ages 5 through 17 from throughout Connecticut will star in the New Britain Youth Theater‘s presentation of “Elf the Musical! Jr” December 9th through 11th.
Elf the Musical! Jr is a musical based on the hit holiday film starring Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf, a Christmas movie that quickly became a classic, adapted for young actors and audience. The story follows Buddy, a human who grew up thinking he was an elf, on his adventure from the North Pole to New York City to find his family and help them remember the true meaning of Christmas.
The performances are directed by Darren Farrington, musical directed by Angela Klimaytis, and choreographed by Chelsea Derby. The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain is sponsor of the production.
“Our youngest cast members play the North Pole elves,” said Farrington, “and older children are New Yorkers at Buddy’s dad’s work and New York City attractions like Macy’s department store, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park.
Elf the Musical! Jr will be performed at Holmes Elementary School, at 2150 Stanley Street in New Britain on Friday, December 9, at 7:00 pm, Saturday, December 10, at 7:00 pm and Sunday, December 11 at 2:00 pm.
