CT Breast Health Initiative Officially Launches Registration For the 2017 Race in the Park
The CT Breast Health Initiative (CT BHI) officially launched registration for their biggest fundraising event of the year, a Mother’s Day weekend tradition, RACE IN THE PARK 2017. CT BHI’s RACE IN THE PARK 2017 will take place on May 13, 2017 in New Britain’s historic Walnut Hill Park with registration beginning at 6:30 a.m. This event is expected to attract thousands to participate in RACE day festivities and events while honoring survivors, remembering loved ones, celebrating life, and raising much needed funds to advance the fight against breast cancer in Connecticut.
“This is our largest and most visible fundraiser to support innovative breast cancer research right here in Connecticut,” states Joyce Bray, Board of Directors President for CT Breast Health Initiative. “We have awarded over $3.4 million to researchers and educators in our state, therefore we encourage families, friends, sponsors, and survivors to register for the various events on RACE day, to continue financially supporting the great work being done in Connecticut. Everyone has a stake in the answers that are discovered.”
The CT Breast Health Initiative, Inc. was founded in 2004 as a non-profit organization with a mission to make a difference locally in the fight against breast cancer through education and research. To date, CT BHI has awarded $3.4 million to fund important breast cancer research and education projects in Connecticut as well as funded 20 researchers at various hospitals and organizations throughout the state. Six have reported on their progress at national meetings and one research project is patent pending.
CT Breast Health Initiative will run a flash sale for RACE IN THE PARK 2017 registration from February 21st through March 3rd. Adult (18+ years) registration will cost $25 and youth (under 18 years) registration will cost $10. After the sale period, prices will go up to $30 for adults and $15 for children.
