The Hole in the Wall Theater’s presentation of “Julius Caesar”, based on the classic play written by William Shakespeare and adapted by Hole in the Wall member William Arnold, is playing Friday and Saturday nights until June 17th.
As Hole in the Wall Theater describes the play, “Political maneuvering, angry aristocrats, backstabbing treachery – all too familiar a scenario in this world, especially if your name is Julius Caesar. … Presented in a modern day office setting, universal themes prove as true today as they did in ancient Rome – corporate tragedy with all its underhanded and evil machinations.”
“Julius Caesar returns from a successful war against his enemies, but finds himself surrounded by other enemies ready to kill him and take over the Roman Empire. Friend turns against friend, the instigators are forced to flee, and a long, drawn out war takes place before peace is restored and the republic is saved.”
The Friday and Saturday performances are at at 8:00pm through June 17 . A Sunday matinee will also be performed on June 4 at 2:00 p.m.
Hole in the Wall is located at 116 Main Street. General admission is $20, and $15 for students with ID and seniors. Reservations can be made at 860-229-3049 and tickets can be purchased at Tix.
