New Britain Youth Theater’s presentation of its summer musical, Disney’s “The Lion King Jr”, opens on July 28th.
The youth actors will perform the award-winning Broadway hit musical based on the popular Disney film about a lion cub’s journey away from home and back again, set on African savannah.
Over forty children and teens participating on stage and behind the scenes. In addition to young actors playing the lead roles, Simba, Nala, Timon, Pumbaa, and other favorites character, an ensemble will create the animals and landscape of the African pridelands, deserts, and jungles.
The play is directed by Brooke Ferguson, Angela Klimaytis is the musical director, and choreography is by Victoria Johnson.
The musical be performed at Holmes Elementary School at 2150 Stanley Street.
Performances are:
- Friday, July 28th at 7:00pm
- Saturday, July 29th at 7:00pm
- Sunday, July 30th at 2:00pm
Ticket prices are $13 for adults and $11 for children, students, and seniors.
