Public Library Hosts Discussions on Islam and Islamophobia
The New Britain Public Library will host upcoming discussions in its program, “Courageous Conversations with Our Muslim Neighbors”. In the program, the Library hosts presentations by the non-profit organization, Common Ground Institute and Services.
On Saturday, July 22. 2017, the program will be “ISIS: Does ISIS Represent Islam?”. It will be held from 10:00am to 11:30am at the Library.
On Saturday, August 12th, there will be discussion on “Islamophobia and Your Muslim Neighbor”. Sami Aziz, who is President of Common Ground Services, will discuss Islamophobia and recent increases in hate crimes against Muslim people.
Common Ground Institute and Services, as its website says, is,
a non-profit Islamic Consulting Firm with the aim of providing consulting, education, lectures, classes, events, partnerships in regard to Islam with REAL practicing Muslims. Research shows that most Americans have negative views on Islam, additionally most Americans have never met a Muslim. We aim to provide opportunities for Hospitals, Universities, Churches, Schools, Police Departments, Non-Profits, Public & Private institutions to have access to knowledge and consulting services regarding Islam & Muslims.
