Terry Turcotte Appointed as Principal of Roosevelt Early Learning Center
Roosevelt Early Learning Center’s Interim Principal has been elevated to serve as the school’s Principal.
“I look forward to providing students and families with a foundation for success throughout their educational years by focusing on the academic, emotional, and social needs of the whole child,” said Turcotte.
“As interim principal of Roosevelt Early Learning Center, Ms. Turcotte did a tremendous job in changing the culture and engaging all stakeholders within the school and community,” said Superintendent of Schools Nancy Sarra. Turcotte served as Interim Principal throughout the second half of the 2016-2017 school year.
“We look forward to her continuing this great work as principal of the school,” added Sarra.
Turcotte is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and holds an Intermediate Administrative Certificate from Sacred Heart University and a Master’s Degree in Science Education – Reading Specialization from the University of Saint Joseph.
She has twenty-one years of experience as a New Britain teacher, being named Teacher of the Year in 2000 and 2014. Before serving as Interim Principal at Roosevelt Early Learning Center, she was Assistant Principal of Smith Elementary School, and has also been the Assistant to the Principal at Holmes and Gaffney Elementary Schools.
