23 Students Graduate After Summer School
Twenty-three students received their high school diplomas on August 17, 2017 after completing summer school studies.
“I know many of you displayed perseverance and grit to get here,” said New Britain High School Principal Joseph Pinchera, speaking at the graduation ceremony. “It would’ve been easy for you to give up, but you didn’t. As you move forward in life, make sure you never stop learning.”
“Ask yourself what you want to do in life and come up with a plan to accomplish that goal,” said Michael Foran, Principal of the New Britain High School Satellite Careers Academy. “Your goals will always evolve. Make sure you always learn and grow to meet your ever-changing goals. You may not get there today and you may not get there tomorrow. However, you will get there someday and that’s all that matters.”
Schools Superintendent Nancy Sarra said that she has been fortunate to watch many of the graduates grow since kindergarten, adding, “Embrace your story and live it. Share your story – you never know who you can impact. May your stories enliven memories and inspire others to lead a life that is good. Tell your story with pride and make New Britain proud.”
“Whatever you choose to do, do it with pride and passion,” added Pinchera. “Be a good person. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t accomplish something. You can and you will if you put your mind to it.”
