Parks and Rec Offers Basketball Clinic for 1st and 2nd Graders
New Britain Parks and Recreation is offering a First and Second Grade Basketball Clinic this winter. The program is on Saturdays, from January 20th to March 31, 2018.
The Parks and Recreation website, nbparksnrec.org, says that, “This fun, skill-intensive program is designed with the beginning player in mind. Using our progressional curriculum and focusing on the whole player, we teach your child the skills needed both on and off the court to be a better athlete.”
The Clinic is held on Saturdays, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm in the gymnasium at New Britain High School.
“Our basketball staff will focus on respect, teamwork, and responsibility, starting each class with a ‘skill of the week’ and progressing into drills and games,” says Parks and Recreation. “After 6 weeks of passing, shooting, dribbling, and rebounding, your child will show you why this is one of our most popular programs.”
The program is $65 per participant. As of January 8th, it was still listed as available on the Parks and Recreation website. For more information, Parks and Recreation encourages people to visit their website, their office at 27 West Main Street, Room 302, or to call at 860-826-3360.
