Northend School Receives $10,000 Donation from Burlington Stores
The students and teachers at Northend Elementary School received a welcome surprise recently, as Burlington Stores, Inc. donated $10,000 to the school.
Burlington Stores made the donation through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org as part of its celebration of the opening of its new store at 1600 Southeast Road in Farmington. AdoptAClassroom.org worked with school administrators to bring the donation to Northend School.
“On behalf of the Consolidated School District of New Britain, I would like to thank Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org for adopting our entire school,” said Northend School Principal, Talisha Foy. Foy said that the donation will be used to purchase new classroom items. The $10,000 will be split between classrooms at the school.
“Our teachers look forward to using the funds to enhance learning in our school and in their classrooms,” added Foy. “We are thankful for the support we received from Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org.”
Superintendent of Schools, Nancy Sarra, said that the donation will have a lasting impact on the students and staff at Northend School.
