Former Major Leaguer to Play for Bees
The New Britain Bees have announced that they have signed Jason Rogers, an infielder who played for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2014 and 2015.
In his 117 big league games, he had a .258 batting average, eighteen RBIs, twenty-four runs scored and four home runs.
Bees General Manager Brad Smith said, “Jason will be a great addition to this team. He brings a power bat to the lineup and has proven successful at many professional levels during his career.”
Thirty year old Rogers is coming to New Britain from trade with the Kansas City T-Bones of the American Association.
Rogers played for the Triple-A Indianapolis affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates for sixty-nine games in 2017, earning a .289 batting average, thirty-four RBIs, thirty-five runs score and nine home runs. He then played for the Hanshin Tigers of the Japan Central League for forty games.
During his 760 minor league games, Rogers has 428 RBIs, 395 runs scored, 89 home runs and has a .284 batting average.
