NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner to Be October 19th
The NAACP New Britain Branch has announced that its 2018 Freedom Fund Membership Dinner will be held on October 19th.
The theme of the 2018 Freedom Fund event will be “Defeat Hate – Vote.”
The annual membership dinner supports the mission of the NAACP New Britain Branch to organize in New Britain and empower its residents to win a better, more equal, more just community by working in support of equal access to quality education, decent housing, health care, criminal justice reform, participatory democracy and much more.
At the Freedom Fund Dinner, the NAACP will be presenting honors to the twenty five most influential African Americans in New Britain.
Social hour for the event begins at 5:30pm and the dinner program begins at 6:30pm. The event will be held at the St. George Hellenic Center at 301 West Main Street.
Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest nonpartisan civil rights organization. Its members throughout the United States and the world are the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities.
