Puerto Rican Festival to Be Celebrated Saturday, July 21st
New Britain’s Puerto Rican Festival will be celebrated on Saturday, July 21st, all afternoon and into the evening.
Puerto Rican Society of New Britain President Magaly de Jesus said, that the community, “this Saturday, July 21, 2018 will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the great Puerto Rican Festival of New Britain.”
The theme of the 2018 Festival is, “Unidos en una sola voz” – “United in one voice.”
The Festival Puertorriqueño de New Britain is a long standing tradition in the community. Held on High Street, the Festival places the Puerto Rican Society of New Britain at the center of community life in the city.
The Festival is a time when Puerto Rican culture and New Britain’s close cultural bond with Puerto Rico are celebrated. It draws large crowds to hear live music, eat delicious food and enjoy the festive community event.
Many people come to the Festival to enjoy the hours of live music. Bands playing at the 2018 Festival are to include,

- A Fuego Máximo
- Los Gigantes de la Plena
- Rika Swing
The Festival to be held between the hours of 12:00pm and 8:00pm.
The Puerto Rican Society of New Britain is located at 152 High Street.
