Annual Soul Food Festival to Be Held on August 18th
The 2018 annual New Britain Soul Food Festival will be held on Saturday, August 18th.
The Festival, sponsored by the New Britain Black Democratic Club, is a much-awaited annual event, featuring traditional southern cuisine.
On the menu for the 2018 Festival will be fried chicken, barbecued ribs, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, string beans, corn bread and sweet potatoes.
Desserts will include cakes, pies and cobbler.
The Soul Food Festival will be held from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at the Spottswood A.M.E. Zion Church at 25 Crestwood Lane. Tickets are $15.
The Black Democratic Club works to inform people about the importance of voting and of registering to vote. Its work includes voter forums to encourage people to exercise their right to vote.
