The 2018 New Britain National Night Out event, sponsored by the New Britain Police Department, will be held on August 7th.
New Britain’s 2017 National Night Out drew hundreds of people in a festival atmosphere.
The 2018 event will be a family event featuring New Britain Police, SWAT, Fire and EMS vehicles, Police K-9 dogs, face painting, fingerprinting with New Britain Police detectives, a free cookout, music, games and prizes.
The 2018 event will include a backpack giveaway sponsored by the New Britain Police Athletic League (PAL).
The New Britain National Night Out event is one of many of similar events throughout the country. The National Night Out website says,
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
The 2018 National Night Out will be held in Central Park.
The event will be held from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
