Working Together in North-Oak Clean-Up
About sixty volunteers of all ages came together for the North-Oak neighborhood’s October Community Clean-Up.
The event was organized by the North-Oak Neighborhood Revitalization Zone (NRZ) in collaboration with the New Britain Police Department, Central Connecticut State University, Neighborhood Housing Services, the city of New Britain, local churches and others.
After gathering for breakfast early on the Saturday morning, the volunteers donned gloves and divided into teams. With rakes and garbage bags, they worked to remove trash and clean up the neighborhood.
Neighbors were joined by city police officers and city officials, including Police Chief James Wardwell, Fire Chief Raul Ortiz, City Council President Eva Magnuszewski (D-AL), Ald. Richard Reyes (D-AL), Ald. Kristian Rosado (R-2) and Ald. Donald Naples (R-4).
