East Side Clean-Up Planned

An upcoming East Side clean-up is planned at the YWCA’s neighborhood Community Center. Organizers encourage residents to, “Join the East Side Community and Partners as we celebrate Cultivating a Healthy Community through neighborhood action!”
The event is to be held November 3, 2018 at the YWCA East Side Community Center at 600 East Street. The clean-up was originally scheduled for October 27th, but the YWCA announced that it was rescheduled.
Registration is planned to begin at 8:30am. Organizers say that light refreshments and t-shirts will be available, saying, “Event T-shirts, designed by New Britain’s own Desire Perez, will be provided for the first 100 volunteers. Bring a team of 8 people or more, and receive a ‘TEAM CAPTAIN’ T-Shirt!
The clean-up, itself is to be from 9:00am to 12:00pm. From 12:00pm to 1:00pm, there will be a, “Lunch and Chat.”
“YWCA New Britain, CCSU, The City of New Britain, NBHS, CHC, NBPD, the East Side NRZ and many others will join New Britain’s East Side residents in this EPIC community event,” say event organizers, “celebrating the opening of the East Side Community Center! Join us as we band together and strengthen community bonds, working side by side to beautify our beloved East Side.”
