A Veteran’s Day celebration will be held in New Britain to honor women in the armed forces and support women’s political empowerment.
The event is being hosted by local activist Yvonne Muniz.
The event will be on Sunday, November 11th, which is Veterans Day. It will be held from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Spectrum DJ Entertainment will be providing music and entertainment for the celebration.
The event will be held at the Puerto Rican Society of New Britain. The Society is located at 152 High Street.
Organizers say tickets for the event are $15 online and $20 at the door. There is an online donations site set up for the event.
Proceeds for the event are to go to the organization Emerge Connecticut.
Emerge Connecticut is the state chapter of the national organization, Emerge America. According to its website, the organization,
recruits, trains, and provides a powerful network for Democratic women running for office. Our goal is clear: to increase the number of Democratic women in all levels of public office.
Event organizers say that lunch is included at the event.
