2019 Little Poland Festival Planned for June 2nd
The 2019 Little Poland Festival will be held on June 2nd, Adrian Baron, President of the Polonia Business Association has announced.
“The 2019 Little Poland Festival was moved to June 2nd,” said Baron, “as a result of overwhelming input from festival goers, vendors and entertainers who found our annual April date to be increasingly cold (especially for young kids and older residents i.e. your babcia).”
While it was very well attended, people wore coats at the 2018 Little Poland Festival, even though it was held in late April.
New Britain’s Little Poland Festival is a huge celebration of Polish culture, music and cuisine held annually each spring since 2011. As many as 20,000 people from across Connecticut and beyond have joined New Britain residents in the community celebration on Broad Street.
The Festival, which has been held annually each spring since 2011 has continued the successful attendance that it has grown to in just a few years.
“The change in date also gives our association more time to organize and more time to raise the funds to cover the rising costs of putting on the festival,” said Baron. “For those that may not be aware, the festival is entirely self funded. To give you some idea, last year we had to raise approximately $32,000.”
The Festival’s website says that,
With leaping folk dancers, live music, arts and crafts, unique shopping, amazing food, costumed characters, carnival rides and activities for the young and young at heart, the Little Poland Festival is one of the fastest growing family friendly festivals of its kind in Connecticut. And the best part? Admission is only a smile.
The 2019 Little Poland Festival is planned for 10:00am to 6:00pm on Sunday, June 2, 2019 on Broad Street.
