HITW Presenting Macbeth as “Film Noir”
William Shakespeare’s classic play Macbeth is getting a unique interpretation in the Hole in the Wall Theater’s upcoming production.
The Theater says that,
Keeping most of the original dialogue, we set the stage in the gritty, black-and-white, world of film noir as we follow Macbeth, prophesied by three witches to be king of Scotland. His path to the throne is a dark one, however, as what lays ahead of him includes betrayal, murder, and madness.
The play will open on March 15, 2019.
Scott Hoffman and Ramona Puchalski-Piretti will play “Macbeth” and “Lady Macbeth”, respectively, and Matthew Horowitz plays “Banquo.”
George Dagon will play the characters “Duncan” and “Doctor.” Other cast include Matt Stevens as “Macduff,” Billy Moro as “Malcolm,” Luis Marrero as “Lennox,” Mark Wantroba as “Ross,” Mary Roane as “Angus,” Chuck Willson as “Siward,” Pandora Willcutts as “Young Siward,” Luca Giannelli as “Fleance,” Gino Carbone as “Macduff’s Son,” Thom Ozimek as “Murderer 1,” and Shawna Pelletier as “Murder 2″ and “Messenger.”
The Three Witches will be played by Valerie Ruel, Rayah Martin and Kate Micari. Ruel will also play “Seyton,” Martin will also play “Lady Mucduff,” and Micari will also play “Serving Woman.”
The show will include nine performances through April 6th.
