Final Weekend for “Moon Over Buffalo”
The Connecticut Theater Company is in the final weekend in its production of Ken Ludwig’s play “Moon Over Buffalo,” a comedy about an actor-couple trying to return to stardom.
The play’s two remaining performances will be on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 7:00pm and Sunday, March 31st at 2:00pm.
“Grab your tickets now for this hilarious farce!”, the Theater says.
The Theater says that the play, directed by Duane Campbell and Tony Palmieri,
centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950’s. At the moment, they’re playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in rep in Buffalo, New York with 5 actors. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, abetted by a visit from their daughter’s clueless fiancé and hilarious uncertainty about which play they’re actually performing, caused by Charlotte’s deaf old stage-manager mother who hates every bone in George’s body.
Mike Zizka and Teresa Langston star as George and Charlotte Hay. They are joined by Nicole Roy as “Rosalind”, Travis Karas as “Paul”, JoAnn DeWind as “Ethel”, Jason Michael as “Richard”, Abbey Schmitt as “Eileen” and Dan Deutsch as “Howard”.
Costume design is by Rose Masselli Morse and fight choreography is by Matthew Cote. The play’s Stage Manager is Hannah Rubitz and set and lighting design is by Michael J. Bane.
Tickets are available at the Theater’s online box office. The Theater’s website is connecticuttheatrecompany.org.
The Connecticut Theater Company is located at the historic Repertory Theatre of New Britain, which is at 23 Norden Street.
