Deivone M. Tanksley Sr., best known as the owner of DmtsRadio Live, has announced that he is running for mayor as a petitioning candidate.
The New Britain Democratic Town Committee appears poised to endorse Chris Porcher as the Democratic candidate for mayor and incumbent Republican Mayor Erin Stewart has announced that she will seek re-election.
Tanksley, as a petitioning candidate, would appear on the ballot in November as well.
Tanksley is the owner of DmtsRadio Live and My Wife Didn’t Cook restaurant, is a self-published author who also runs the New Britain Legacies Youth Development and Basketball program.
Tanksley says that he is campaigning on a platform of, “Giving more people an opportunity can make a big difference in our community. No matter the color, party or religion. We are one race, the human race.”
The candidate has identified “issues of concern” in his campaign as education, job creation, taxes, crime and homelessness.
