Chili Cookout to Benefit Citizen Action Group
The Connecticut Citizen Action Group (CCAG) will have its Twelfth Annual Backyard Barbecue in New Britain to benefit the group’s work.
Former State Senator Terry Gerratana and Dr. Frank Gerratana will host the event at their home at 674 Lincoln Street.
The event, also being billed as the “First Annual Chili Cook-Off,” will held on August 17, 2019 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
Proceeds for the event go to support the work of CCAG. The group says, “Funds raised provide the resources we need to keep the momentum going on the issues you care about.”
CCAG says that it is
a statewide membership organization dedicated to involving the residents of Connecticut in altering the relations of power in order to bring about a more just society.
The organization says that its work includes,
Organizing door-to-door, raising awareness, finding and training community leaders, citizen lobbyists, and future decision makers. Above all, making sure that the conversations happen. Whether the issue is affordable quality healthcare, democracy, the protection of consumers, or the environment, Citizen Action in all of its forms is critical. Your support now will help to ensure that our voices thunder. Together we will win.
At the event, the organization is asking for donations of $35, $70, $100, $200 or more, or $15 for students. The organization asks for RSVPs by August 14th and has an RSVP website for the event.
