President of Poland to Visit New Britain

The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, will be visiting New Britain, Poland’s Consul General and Honorary Consul have announced.

Darek Barcikowski announced that, “It is my distinct pleasure as the Honorary Consul of Poland in Connecticut along with the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in New York Mr. Maciej Golubiewski to extend an invitation to welcome the President of Poland, His Excellency Mr. Andrzej Duda and the Spouse of the President of Poland Mrs. Agata Kornhauser-Duda to New Britain.”

Barcikowski adds, “The historic visit will be a first by the Polish Head of State to Connecticut.”

The event is to be on Sunday, September 22, 2019. It will be held at 3:00pm at Walnut Hill Park.

Event organizers say that, “Registration for the event is required.” They have announced a website to accept registrations, presidentdudact.com adding, “One name per registration only. Information with arrival instructions will be e-mailed to all respondents.”

Event organizers say that, “Due to security measures, please arrive at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the event.”

Organizers advise those attending to, “follow signs for public access points. Large bags and all weapons and sharp objects are prohibited. A valid photo ID will be required to enter the premises.”

In addition to serving Honorary Consul of Poland in Connecticut, Barcikowski is also the publisher of the White Eagle newspaper and was Chair of the 2019 Little Poland Festival.
