Full Day of Events at Diaspora Festival
The Diaspora Multicultural Society will have a full day of music, food and community today at its Second Annual Multicultural Festival.
Diaspora is encouraging those coming to the Festival to, “Bring your lawn chairs,” because the event, “has so much in store, you’re going go want to make a day of it!”
The Society say that the schedule for the Festival is,
- 12:00 Festival Starts, visit our vendors!
- 1:00 p.m. FREE Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata lessons AND a live performance by Jason Ramos of Baila Con Gusto CT
- 2:15 p.m. performance by Mariachi Corazon de Oro
- 2:30 p.m. performance by R&B singer, songwriter A Marquise
- 3:30 p.m. performance by Reggae Band I Guru
- 4:30 p.m. performance by singer Andrea Sims
- 5:30 p.m. performance by singer, songwriter Anitra Brooks
- 6:00 p.m. performance by hip hop artist Sha
- 7:00 p.m. performance by house singer Khadija Lisa
“You’ll be able to pop inside for cold beer and beverages, delicious food (arroz con gandules, pollo, pinchos, fish and chips y más), and clean restrooms,” the organization adds.
The 2019 Festival will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019, from 12:00pm to 8:00pm. It is held at Diaspora Multicultural Society, which is located at 90 John Street.
Diaspora says that, at the Festival, “Our vendors have merchandise and services you don’t want to miss, and we might even get a visit at some point from Ice Cream for A Dream giving out free ice cream!”
The Society has said that the Multicultural Festival, “serves Diaspora’s mission of bringing together a diverse crowd to commingle and build community,” adding, “Attendees will get to celebrate, participate in, and experience our community’s rich diversity.”
The Diaspora Multicultural Society says that,

In addition to its Annual Multicultural Festival, the Diaspora sponsors other community programming, such as its First Fridays Empowerment Series.
