YWCA to Hold Fall Family Festival
The YWCA New Britain has announced a family celebration of the Autumn season and Halloween at its 2019 annual Fall Family Festival.
YWCA says that it is excited to, “invite the community down for the annual Fall Family Festival.”
The event is to be held on October 17, 2019 at the New Britain YWCA. It is to be held from 4:30pm to 7:00pm.
“The event will feature activities such as pumpkin painting, face tattoos, crafts, and music and sing-alongs provided by staff, volunteers and students from CCSU,” says the organization. “Children are invited to come down in their Halloween costumes, take a picture in the photo booth, and trick-or-treat from the local vendors.”
The YWCA says that there will also the a fire and a police vehicle at the event for a “Touch-a-Truck activity.”
“Pizza and snacks will be available for purchase,” the organization says, “and New Britain ROOTS, a local nonprofit that focuses on making healthy food accessible and affordable to low-income members of the community, will be selling fresh foods.”
The YWCA says that, “Some activities will have a small fee. Proceeds benefit YWCA Youth Programs and United Way.”
The YWCA’s Membership and Wellness Director, Heather Labbe, said that, “As a cause-driven organization, YWCA New Britain presents the Fall Family Festival each year to celebrate diversity and bring members of our community together.”
