CCSU Theatre to Perform ‘Lend Me a Tenor’
The CCSU Theater Department is presenting its production of Ken Ludwig’s comedy, Lend Me a Tenor.
The Theatre Department says that the play, “is full of high-energy hijinks. Watch as characters come and go in a hilariously choreographed series of close calls, mistaken identity and general mishaps.”
In the play, the Theatre Department says,
Set in the 1930s, world-famous opera singer Tito Merelli is set to perform at the Cleveland Grand Opera. After Tito accidentally takes a double dose of tranquilizers and an assistant thinks he is dead, a frantic attempt to save the evening and reputation of the theatre begins. It ends with two opera singers running around in identical costumes, two women parading around in their underwear and one angry wife storming in and out. Full of trips, falls and close calls this over the top comedy is guaranteed to leave the audiences rolling in the aisles.
The play will have three performances, on Thursday, October 24, 2019, Friday, October 25th and Saturday, October 26th. All of the performances are at 7:30pm.
The play will be performed at the Black Box Theater in Maloney Hall of the campus of CCSU. CCSU is located at 1615 Stanley Street.
Tickets for the performances are $7 for students and seniors, and $15 for general admission.
Tickets are available online and at the CCSU CENtix Box Office at the Information Desk in the University Student Center.
