Tercyak Recieves 100% from Environment League
State Rep. Peter Tercyak (D-26) has announced that the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) has scored his voting record as 100% in 2019.
“I’m on the side that’s for protecting people and the environment and enabling growth in alternative energy sources in order to move us away from fossil fuel pollution,” said Tercyak.
The CTLCV ranked legislators by what percentage of the time they voted with the organization’s policy positions during the the 2019 legislative session.
Tercyak noted that, “One of the benefits of serving on the Energy & Technology Committee was being able to shape some of the committee’s legislation.”
Tercyak noted several legislative bills that he supported that contributed to his CTLCV 2019 score, including HJ171, on the State Water Plan, which he said, “enshrined water as a public trust resource and established a framework from which the state can work to best manage this responsibility.”
Another bill, SB753, Teryak said, “expanded the state’s current fracking ban to cover all gas and oil operations.”
“Our work shows that we can move these initiatives forward while preventing damage to our pristine open spaces for future generations,” Tercyak said.
State Rep. Rick Lopes (D-24) received a 94% CTLCV rating for 2019, Rep. Bobby Sanchez (D-25) received a 93% rating and Rep. William Petit (R-22) received an 81% rating.
Sen. Gennaro Bizzarro (R-6) received an 86% rating.
