MLK Community Day to be at NBMAA
The New Britain Museum of American Art has announced its 2020 Community Day, to be held in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The Museum says that, “To honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Day the Museum will be open for a special free Community Day!”
The Community Day, will be on Monday, January 20, 2020, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at the Museum. The Museum says that its admission on Martin Luther King Day is, “Free for everyone, all day.”
“Adults, children, and families are all invited to visit the NBMAA,” says the Museum, “and take part in a variety of insightful educational offerings, as we recognize this national day of service.”
“Throughout the day,” the Museum says, “visitors can create masterpieces to bring home at the Art Carts located throughout the Museum’s galleries.”
At 1:00pm, the Museum invites people to, “Join our knowledgeable docents for an African-American Artists tour.” Then, at 2:00pm, it says, “the galleries will fill with the joyful songs of the Main Street Children’s Choir.”
“Before you go,” Museum adds, “feel free to grab a book and read with your child, or on your own; there will be books and stools available throughout the Museum.”
The New Britain Museum of American Art is a world class museum, located at 56 Lexington Street, adjoining New Britain’s historic Walnut Hill Park.
