People’s March Movement to Hold Meeting Tonight
A meeting is planned to continue discussions for change after Sunday’s historic protest in New Britain demanding change to end racist inequality and violence.
At the May 31, 2020 #PeoplesMarch in New Britain, Bishop Rha-Sheen Brown, of Right Now Ministries, challenged those in attendance to continue the momentum of the protest by participating in building practical change in the city.
Perhaps two thousand people took the streets in New Britain in the rally and march led by organizer Tre Brown, 2019 Democratic Mayoral nominee Chris Porcher and Bishop Brown, who called it, “a new revolution.”
On Sunday, Bishop Brown invited people to attend a session, to be held tonight, Tuesday, June 2nd at 6:00pm, “to continue discussions from the protest today. Its time to talk economic development. And the power of our collective voices.”
The meeting is to be held at Right Now Ministries, which is located at 147 West Main Street.
The protest on Sunday was one of many held nationwide in the wake of the killing of George Floyd by police in Minneapolis. The killing of Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and other African Americans have sparked vigorous protests against ongoing racism in the nation.
