New Britain Little League Getting Ready to Play Ball
New Britain Little League is taking a survey as it seeks to, “spread the word,” that it, “will be running a season from late June-August.”
“It’s time to play ball!” the League says.
Saying, “In order for us to properly prepare for a 2020 summer season,we need your feedback,” the League is asking families of players to, “Please fill out your mandatory survey.”
In the survey, the League says that it,
will review changes that are mandated by the CDC. Please note, that guidelines are changing on a daily basis. We are working closely with the New Britain Department of Public Health, as the health of our players, parents, coaches, and umpires is what matters most to us.
The questions in the survey say that, “The recommendations of the guidelines are that each player has his/her own equipment,” asking if each player has their own bat, glove and helmet. Alternatively, the survey asks families if they approve of equipment each team will have, “that can be shared after it is sanitized between uses.”
“Players who are not on the field will be required to sit 6 feet apart from each and wear a mask,” the survey says, also saying that the traditional end-of-game line-up will be replaced with a tip of the hat.
The survey indicates that snacks will, “not be allowed during the game for players, coaches, and umpires,” that, “Individual drinks will be allowed, however, they must be labeled with the player’s name,” and that, “the concession stand and restrooms will not be open for the season.”
“Please note that we are awaiting guidelines as to social gatherings,” the survey says, “we may have to limit attendance to immediate family only during the games.” It adds that spectators are to, “social distance from individuals outside of their immediate family members and they must wear a mask.”
“Please take the time to fill out your survey,” the League asks, “in the attempt to have the most successful and safe summer for our New Britain youth.”
Founded in 1957, the New Britain Little League says that, “in our league, girls and boys from 4-16 play baseball and softball in the beautiful city of New Britain, Connecticut!”
