The hot summer months of 2025 are coming and New Britain city pools and splash pads are to open, providing relief from the heat and summer fun.
The city’s three splash pad summer water recreation locations open on Memorial Day weekend and are to remain open through Labor Day weekend.
The pools in New Britain’s Willow Brook Park Pool and A.W. Stanley Park Pool opened on June 14, 2025 at 1:00pm and are to close on August 9th at 4:45pm.
The three city splash pads are located:
- Willow Street Park, at 43 Willow Street
- Chesley Park, at 23 Wildwood Street
- Osgood Park, at 460 Osgood Avenue
The city pools are located at:
- Willow Brook Park Pool at 80 Mill Street.
- A.W. Stanley Park Pool at 2161 Stanley Street
The hours for the city pools are to be:
- Recreation swim, from 1:00pm to 4:45pm. The city says, “Must be at least 12 years old or accompanied by a 14 year old or older.”
- Evening swim, from 6:15pm to 7:45pm. The city says that swimmers, “Must be at least 14 years old or accompanied by an 18 year old or older.”
At the splash pads, the city says, “Locker rooms open; 06/14-08/09, 10:00a.m. to 8:00p.m.”, adding there are no admission fees.
The city says that season pool passes, which are for New Britain residents only, are $65 per family and $35 per individual. Daily admission for the pools is $5 for adults, aged 18 or older, $3 for children, ages 6 to 17 and free for children 5 and under. More information is available on the Parks and Recreation website.
In addition, Parks and Recreation has its regular pool party programs at both city pools. The parties are 6:15pm to 7:45pm, and, “Standard admission rates and pool rules apply.” Parks and Recreation says that, “Pool Parties include a DJ Dance Party and pool inflatables. No outside inflatables will be allowed.”
The pool parties at Willow Brook Park Pool are to include:
- Friday, July 11th
- Friday, July 25th
- Friday, August 8th
The pool parties at A.W. Stanley Park Pool are to include:
- Friday, June 27th
- Friday, July 18th
- Friday, August 1st
Two special “Flick & Float” events are planned at the city’s pools. At A.W. Stanley Park Pool on July 11, 2025, the event is to feature “Moana 2.” On August 1st, “Sonic 3” will be featured at Willow Brook Park Pool. Parks and Recreation says the events, “feature: Inflatable Amusements, Carnival Games, and Concessions.”
Gates at the “Flick & Float”, events, Parks and Recreation says, open at 8:00pm, with the movies starting at 9:00pm, Parks and Recreation says, adding that tickets are $3 per person. “Pre-registration required,” the city adds.
Parks and Recreation also offers swimming lessons, with information about that available on its website.
