Those with their eyes on the skies this evening in New Britain got a special treat in the form of a perfect rainbow as rain clouds were departing.

Not only was the rainbow a full arch, but it was joined by a secondary arch, forming a “double rainbow.”

The unusual conditions needed to allow a rainbow persisted for some time, as the arch faded and returned again.

The rainbow appeared over New Britain on the evening of Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
