Democratic State Senate Candidate and current State Representative Rick Lopes (D-24) announced that he has been endorsed by the environmental group, Sierre Club.
“During my time in public service I have always followed one core principle when it comes to climate change and the environment: trust science,” said Lopes on Facebook.
“With that said,” Lopes said, “I’m pleased to announce that I’ve been endorsed by the Sierra Club, an organization that has done incredible work in advocating for clean energy and environmental sustainability.”
Lopes is a candidate for the Sixth Senatorial District, which includes New Britain, Berlin and part of Farmington. He is challenging incumbent State Senator Gennaro Bizzarro (R-6), who is the Republican candidate.
“I’m committed to continuing the fight against climate change and advancing policies that prioritize our environment over corporate interests,” said Lopes. “Big thanks to the Connecticut Chapter of the Sierra Club!”
