Online Storytelling to Benefit New Britain Roots

Tell Me Another” is hosting an online storytelling event with New Britain ROOTS to benefit the New Britain food and empowerment organization’s programs.

“Grab a snack and a drink,” event organizers say, “put on your comfy pants, and join us for an evening of true stories told live…all from the comfort of home!”

Tell Me Another says that, at its shows,

regular people just like you bravely step up to the microphone to tell their tales without notes or props. Except for open mic events, each evening is loosely structured around a single theme and all stories are true as the storytellers remember them.

Saying that, “Shows are cast in advance,” Tell Me Another adds that, “Each show is hosted by champion storyteller Terry Wolfisch Cole, who also tells a story of her own.”

The Tell Me Another “Free Virtual Show to Benefit New Britain ROOTS” is planned for Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 7:30pm on Zoom.

Tell Me Another has a registration page set up for the show on Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEvcO-qpjwrHNQBwRZp4n3Ar8scnIcY90zZ.

“The show is free and open to all,” event organizers say. “Donations will be gratefully received to to benefit New Britain Roots.”

New Britain ROOTS says, “We cultivate community connections and equitable access to quality food through empowerment and learning with the people who grow, prepare, and eat food in New Britain.”

The organization has said that it, “Constructed ten school gardens and two school greenhouses in New Britain,” “Taught over 800 students in Farm-to-Summer School programs,” and “Partnered with five local farms to increase access to and make fresh, nutrition food affordable in our community,” among other accomplishments.
