League of Women Voters Candidate Forum Online and On TV
The New Britain Area League of Women Voters has announced that its 2020 forum for New Britain state legislative candidates is available online and on TV.
The forum is presently available online on Nutmeg TV at the public access television organization’s on-demand website.
Nutmeg TV has the forum available on its YouTube channel at youtu.be/VguAhXLsZDA.
Nutmeg will broadcast the forum on Comcast Channels 5 and 1070 ten times:

The pre-recorded forum, held at the Trinity-On-Main venue included a number of candidates.
In the Sixth Senatorial District current State Representative Rick Lopes (D-24), the Democratic candidate, debated incumbent Republican State Senator Gennaro Bizzarro (R-6). The Sixth Senatorial District, which includes New Britain, Berlin and part of Farmington.
In the Twenty-Fourth Assembly District, the Democrat, Ald. Manny Sanchez (D-AL), who is the current City Council Democratic leader, debated Republican Alden Russell. That district includes the West End, Willow Brook and southern East Side neighborhoods in New Britain and the south west corner of Newington.
In the Twenty-Fifth District, incumbent Democratic State Representative Bobby Sanchez (D-25) debated Republican Jerrell Hargraves. The district includes neighborhoods from Mount Pleasant, to downtown and Arch Street, to the North-Oak neighborhood to parts of the East Side.
Incumbent Democratic State Representative Peter Tercyak (D-26), running for re-election in the Twenty-Sixth District, debated his opponent, Republican Piotr S. Ceglarz.
Ceglarz was nominated by the Republican Party for that district this year, despite him having been forced out of the 2015 election for City Council after posts attributed to his Facebook profile that were widely regarded as racist.
The Twenty-Sixth District, includes the Little Poland, Farmingdale, Little Warsaw, Alexander Avenue, Batterson Pond, Brittany Farms and Stanley park neighborhoods and parts of the Belvedere neighborhood.
The forum was moderated by Deb Polun of the Greater Hartford League of Women Voters.
The forum was pre-recorded without an audience, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
