Dr. Violet Jiménez Sims, Diaspora Multicultural’s President, has announced an online fundraiser to support its Foundation’s nonprofit mission.

Begun as part of Giving Tuesday, Jiménez Sims invites people to donate to the Diaspora Multicultural Foundation, Inc., saying, “whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps.”
The fundraiser is being held on a Facebook fundraising page, and can be made on a Network for Good page for Diaspora. As of December 1, 2020, Facebook fundraising page said that there are fourteen days left in the fundraiser.

“We promote multiculturalism in our community through charitable contributions,” the organizations says on its Guidestar page, “and by a network of people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.”
Diaspora says that its programs include,
Monthly events free to the community – various formats such as forum, guest speakers, community conversations, film viewings, and gallery walks. Topics are diverse and aim to build understanding of underrepresented populations (e.g.: women, people of color, LGBTQ+, Autism and other differently-abled people).
The Diaspora Multicultural Society is has said that, “is a diverse social club that hosts events that appeal to many interests- from socially conscious programming to partying/laid back good times.”

The organization is well known for its annual Multicultural Festival which it has said, “further serves Diaspora’s mission of bringing together a diverse crowd to commingle and build community.”
