Hole in the Wall Theater Hosting Variety Hour Online
New Britain’s Hole in the Wall Theater is hosting a Variety Hour in a filmed performance streaming online.
“Join us for a night of artists and collaborators in the first, entirely filmed Hole in the Wall Theater Variety Hour!” the Theater says.
The premiere of the show is to be on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 7:00pm. The Theater has information about the presentation on its Facebook event page.
On the Theater’s blog, John Bosco wrote that the performance is, “featuring the works and performances of Richard Sebastian-Coleman, Ken Schroeder, and (once again) Uncle Dinty!” The Theater says that the show includes works by Scott Stephen Kegler, Benn Pharr IV and Alyssa Miller.
“It’s a night of talent and togetherness in the rough times we live in and we are so excited to share it with you!” Bosco added.
The show is directed by Krysten Drachenberg, Dinty Peifer and Terrance J. Peters. Peters is also the performance’s producer.
While the performance is free, the Theater is asking for donations to help it to meet its costs. Bosco noted that, “will be collecting donations during our Variety Hour.”
“Our theater has operating expenses in the form of rent, electricity, supplies, and production costs,” the Theater says. “Your contribution will help us continue putting on amazing live theater in downtown New Britain.”
The Theater has a donations website, where people can contribute. That website notes that,
For over 45 seasons, Hole in the Wall Theater has provided affordable theater in New Britain and an open space for anyone to engage with the theatrical arts in our community. Hole in the Wall is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization run solely by volunteers. We strive to keep our overhead costs low and production quality top notch. Please help us continue providing quality, live theater in downtown New Britain.
The Theater has also been accepting donations on at its HITW Save Our Stage Fundraiser page on Facebook, where it noted that, “The Covid pandemic has forced us to turn our live performance space into a closed film studio.”
“We hope this fundraiser, along with other grant and economic relief money, will allow us to maintain the overhead cost of our physical stage until our reopening later this year,” the Theater added.
The Hole in the Wall Theater is located in downtown New Britain at 116 Main Street.
