School District To Have Forums On Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
The New Britain school district has announced a series of workshops on racist disparities and gaps in opportunity.
“We have a strong commitment to becoming a culturally and linguistically responsive school district,” the Consolidated School District of New Britain says, “to ensure racial disparity achievement and opportunity gaps are addressed.”
The school district says that, “As a part of our commitment, staff and administrators have been engaging in professional learning sessions on diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout this school year.”
The school district says that it is inviting parents, now, “to participate in similar interactive learning experiences to establish a shared understanding of our DEI work.”
The school district says that the forums are to be held online, via Zoom, at relay.zoom.us/j/2039251980.
The school system says that its, “goal is to apply an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens to every aspect of our work, which means engaging parents in the learning.
