Neighborhood Housing Services Offers Incentives for Financial Coaching

Neighborhood Housing Services of New Britain (NHSNB) has offered an incentive for people to receive its Financial Coaching services.

“As the COVID pandemic begins to subside and many of the financial assistance programs begin to end,” Chris Sanders, CEO for Neighborhood Housing Services of New Britain said, “households can really benefit from the financial literacy services we have to offer.”

As of February 10, 2022, the NHSNB’s website says it is offering, “up to $100 in gift cards when you attend NHSNB’s free financial coaching services.”

“Those attending learn how to manage bill payments and develop an action plan to manage their finances,” NHSNB says. “This free service is completed in three easy sessions in-person or on Zoom.” NHSNB has said that the gift card incentive is for people who, “complete all three sessions.”

NHSNB says that in the first session, “coaches to gather the information needed to clearly understand their situation, goals, and issues.” In second, “the counselor discusses the participant’s challenges in more detail and provides specific recommendations for improvement tailored to their situation.” And, in the third, “After a few months have passed, the coach contacts them to see how things are going.”

Maria Rosiello, Home Services Manager and one of the Financial Coaches for NHSNB said that, “Learning about credit, a workable spending plan, how to save, and the importance of insurance is a step in the right direction to creating generational wealth.”
