BEE-NB Expresses Disappointment About Superintendent Search
The Education Committee of BEE-NB has expressed disappointment about the process of selecting a new schools superintendent.
Building Economic Equality – New Britain is new community organization advocating for economic empowerment, education and other issues.
BEE-NB made its comments in a statement issued after a meeting with Board of Education President Gayle Sanders-Connolly. BEE-NB thanked Sanders-Connolly, “for speaking with us last night and answering questions about the selection process for New Britain’s next superintendent.”
“We appreciate the opportunity to participate in the focus groups and survey process,” BEE-NB said.
But, the BEE-NB Education Committee said, they, “are disappointed that there will be no community representation on the selection committee.”
“We are also disappointed that the position was posted before the community could weigh in on what exactly we should be looking for in a superintendent,” the organization said.
“We will instead make the community’s voice heard through the avenues available to us,” BEE-NB said in its statement. “Please complete the survey below and circulate it widely throughout your networks!”
