The community empowerment organization, Building Economic Equality-New Britain (BEE-NB), is planning a Community Celebration at the Diaspora Multicultural Society.
“Come out for food, drinks, music, and games,” BEE-NB says, “as well as discussions about the next steps in our work!”
The event is to be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 5:30pm. Organizers have made an online form available for those interested to RSVP.
BEE-NB, organized in 2021, has already been active in community organizing around economic, education and other issues.
The group successfully organized to prevent the repeal of the city’s Living Wage ordinance, has advocated for an inclusive process for choosing the city’s new schools superintendent and organized for a rally to support of Superintendent Nancy Sarra.
The Diaspora Multicultural Society, Inc. is located at 90 John Street.
