Hope Salas presents “DOT: A Silent Comedy” at Hole in the Wall
Performer Hope Salas is to present, “DOT: A Silent Comedy” – “DOT The Clown” at the Hole in the Wall Theater.
Salas says that her “DOT Short” performances were,
born out of the harrowing reality of COVID-19 and contextualizes (literally &/or figuratively) what we have all faced during this pandemic. Each “short” punctuates the extremes of adapting and adopting to the new world order. DOT highlights the humanity of each of us. She boldly illustrates feelings of fear, confusion, worry & isolation. She is open and raw. She is resolute in doing right by others. She is a problem solver. She teaches us the resilience of the human spirit. She is always moving forward, and always willing to life on life terms.
“Today, maybe we all carry a little bit extra hope and courage within us,” Salas says. “Maybe each of us walks with a lighter step, feels with a bigger heart, has a greater capacity to forgive, and has a clearer vision how we might better handle tomorrow’s life challenges.”
Salas adds that, “DOT teaches me all these things. … She is now born out of hope and joy. Fear is a tertiary emotion. She found her way. She’s ‘got this!’ She rose to the occasion and taught me to do the same.”
An actress, writer, producer, educator and teaching artist based in New York City, Salas’ credits include numerous stage performances, as well as daytime television dramas. Her website also says that she, “initiated a puppet program for orphaned children living at The Red Cross Children’s Hospital founded by Desmond Tutu.”
The performances in the Hole in the Wall Theater premiere on June 10, 2022 and continue to June 19th.
Tickets for the performances are available at the Hole in the Wall Theater’s tickets web page. General admission, the Theater says, is $25 and, for students and seniors is $20.
