New Life II Giving Out Winter Gear and Coats Ahead of Winter
“It’s getting cold out!” New Life II said, announcing the distribution of winter gear and coats to families in need on Friday, October 21, 2022.
New Life II is giving away coats for men, women, teens and children as part of its continuing efforts to help people and build healthy neighborhoods.
The distribution is being held at the downtown New Life II Center at 117 West Main Street.
The event is to begin at 12:00pm, rain or shine, and will continue, “until we give away all of the gear,” New Life II says, recommending that people, “Come early.”
“This community event is in collaboration with The Spott Unlimited, CCSU, and Wheeler,” organizers say, “and features Music, Hot Cider, Snacks, and the sharing of community resources.”
New Life II has been appealing for the collection of winter gear and coats, in preparation for the distribution to those in need, and adds that, “It’s not too late to donate – email Minister Maggie at [email protected].”
The distribution event is being held at New Life II’s Recovery Community Center, in the heart of New Britain, which Pastor Dana Smith and Pastor Evelyn Smith, announced the opening of this summer.
“New Life II was created by the community,” the organization has said, “and we are here for our community!”
New Life II has said that its work includes, “housing peer-support education,” “integrative healing facilitator training,” information on, “the facts and myths about peer-support,” “intentional peer support core training in additions and substance use,” and, “Narcan trainings and safe-use kit distribution.”
