City Seeking Bios for Upcoming Black History Month Exhibit
The city Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities and Mayor Erin Stewart are, “seeking biographies of individuals who have made a significant impact in the fields of arts, business, community service, education, science, sports or any other area of public or private endeavor.”
“The chosen individuals will be featured in the exhibit and recognized at a special ceremony during the unveiling,” says Jerrell Hargraves, Human Rights & Opportunities Officer in a press statement. “This exhibit, which will be on the second floor of City Hall, outside of the Mayor’s Office, celebrates the achievements and contributions of past and present Black residents of our community.”
The exhibit is to be unveiled on February 8, 2023 at 6:00pm.
“To be considered,” Hargraves notes, “please submit a brief biography of 500 words or less and a photograph of the individual to [email protected] by January 27, 2023. In your submission, please include information about the individual’s accomplishments, as well as any impact they have had on the community.”
Hargraves can be reached for any questions at 860-826-3411 or [email protected].
