Free Fashion Series Starts Saturday (1/28) For Students 10-18 At S.U.R.E.
NEW BRITAIN – S.U.R.E. (Safety Usually Resolves Everything), a non-profit youth development program, begins a series of Saturday educational sessions January 28th for students ages 10 to 18 on the fashion industry and careers.
The Fashion Group organized by SURE Founder Candyce Scott, MA, LPC, “helps children improve self-esteem, social and vocational skills.” The program includes mentoring and participants will be part of a fashion show at the end of the sessions. The Fashion Group sessions run from January 28th through May 26th. Group 1 (ages 10-13) meets from 1:30 to 2:30 pm and Group 2 (Ages 13-18) from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. They will be held at Insight of New England offices at 35 Woodland Street.

S.U.R.E.
Insight of New England with offices in West Hartford and New Britain specializes in providing children, adolescents, adults, and families with counseling and support groups. Scott, a New Britain resident who earned her master’s degree in psychology at CCSU, is a licensed counselor at Insight and provides therapeutic services to children and their families, navigating school issues, anxiety, depression, and trauma. She founded the S.U.R.E. nonprofit focusing on activities such as The Fashion Group to empower youth in an atmosphere of trust and encouragement. Donations to the SURE program are welcome and appreciated.
