2023 Little Poland Festival Planned For June 4th; Organizers Raising Donations
The 2023 New Britain Little Poland Festival is planned for June 4th, Broad Street community leader Adrian Baron says, and festival organizers are seeking donations for the event.
“This year, New Britain, Connecticut’s Little Poland neighborhood will host the 10th edition of the Little Poland Festival,” Baron says, adding that, “the event showcases Polish culture with leaping folk dancers representing various regions of Poland, Polish organizations from around the state, Polish language schools, traditional and modern music, amazing food and imported Polish products.”
“This year organizers expect over 35 thousand visitors,” Baron says, of the volunteer-run festival.
However, Baron says, “With rising costs, the festival has become more difficult to produce. Organizers from the Polish community must raise in excess of 45 thousand dollars to pay for city services, police, stage rentals and a myriad of other fees.”
“Recently,” Baron points out, “we have seen the closing of Polish National Homes, Catholic Schools and festivals across the US. Now, more than ever, we need to preserve and support our Polish cultural programs.”
Baron has launch a GoFundMe fundraiser for people to contribute to support, “an event that has become a tradition for families across the state.”
“Let’s help make future festivals possible,” Baron says. “And make sure to join us on June 4th for this great annual event.”
