CONCORA Presenting Concert – Feel the Spirit: The Legacy of Moses Hogan
CONCORA is presenting, “Feel the Spirit: The Legacy of Moses Hogan,” a concert held in honor of the widely acclaimed composer and conductor on the 20th anniversary of his passing.
Hogan, CONCORA notes, “received worldwide acclaim for his arrangements of spirituals,” adding that, “He published more than 80 works prior to his death from a brain tumor at age 45.”
“His familiar titles,” CONCORA says, included “Steal Away,” “Wade in the Water,” and “Great Day.”
“CONCORA’s professional choir with singers from Central Connecticut State University and area high schools will perform the composer’s music on the 20th anniversary of his passing,” CONCORA says.
The concert’s co-conductors are to include, “Chris Shepard, CONCORA’s Artistic Director, and Dr. Gaylon Robinson, Director of Choral Studies at Central CT State University,” CONCORA says.
The concert is to be February 11, 2023 at 3:00pm, held at the South Church at 90 Main Street.
