Local news project seeks volunteers for feedback on news coverage and content
The New Britain Progressive, a publication of New Britain Independent Newspaper, Inc. published online by volunteers since 2016, invites nominations for a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) that is forming this spring..
CAC members will serve as an advisory group to:
- Recommend ideas for news coverage and editorial content relevant to the New Britain area;
- Contribute opinion/analyses on local, state and national issues that impact New Britain;
- Provide periodic feedback on the quality of content and adherence to accurate and accountable citizen journalism;
- Review marketing/income strategies to assist board/volunteers increase readership and sustainability.
Advisory committee members will reflect the city’s diversity and be a sounding board to guide news coverage and share viewpoints on New Britain’s culture, business, politics and neighborhoods.
The Committee is expected to meet three times per year or as needed. Individuals may nominate themselves or recommend others for consideration.
