HRA Welcomes Donation from New Britain Youth Leads for Local Food Center

Youth leaders from New Britain Youth Leads donated money they had fundraised to HRA of New Britain’s New Britain Food Resource Center.

The donation of $225 was presented by Youth Leads to HRA at the Food Resource Center’s Farmington Avenue location, HRA said, “to recognize the Food Resource Center’s efforts to provide food to thousands of New Britain residents each year who otherwise cannot access enough for their families.” The donation was presented to HRA on a ceremonial “big check.”

Dr. Marlo Greponne, HRA Executive Director, thanked the youths, saying, “They took time to research us and decide our pantry deserved this special gift. It was totally an extracurricular effort on their part. We are so grateful they chose us.”

HRA noted the extra efforts that the young people made to raise the funds saying that,

Youth leaders with New Britain Youth Leads were able to make the gift to the Food Center from a unique fund for which they have raised money since 2020. Youth have run concession stands among other activities to raise money for the fund.
